I loved going to Cue Fall in Napa. I enjoyed the Opening and Closing Key Note Speakers as well as Iron Cue. The first session I attended was: Get Your eduGlog On!
Katie WarrenMulti, TL, IN, IT A202 Administration Building
I want to start doing Glogs in my classroom. Hopefully soon.
The second session I attended was:
Digital Storytelling Across the Curriculum
Arnie Abrams 2007
I feel this is a great device to get my students writing. They can do a story about themselves using pictures. It would be great to have digital cameras for the students to use. I will teach them how to write down where the obtained their pictures from the web if they use those.
The next session I attended was:
Intervention by Google
Kyle Brumbaugh, 2137
Elizabeth Calhoon Here I learned about Google Reader and Google Books. I set up some for my class already. I learned more about the power of Google docs.
The Next Session I attended was:
I Have the Software, I Have the Skills… Now What?!
Dave Kootman 2061
Over all this was not my favorite workshop. Dave has not been in a classroom for two years. He only had elementary experience. He had 1/2 of his class use the computers at a time and then had them trade places so everyone had a chance to use the computers. This does not fit into a 45 min middle school class setting.
My final session I attended was:
Free, and Easy: Great Free &
Open Source Resources
Brian Bridgesand
Check out CRLN. There are so many free apps out there. It was amazing.
So Saturday was a great day for learning. On Sunday I wrote my plan for Merit. Monday my students worked on their blogs. I decided to pair strong students with the weaker ones to help them out. It seemed to work really well. I hope to do some more of that next week. My students are having trouble using excel so I think I will try to teach everyone to use Google docs next week to finish their math spread sheet on Thanksgiving Dinner.
I am looing forward to March SV Cue. I wish I could meet with the other Cambrian attenders of Cue and share information. When would we have the time?
